PRODA-klasse med Šárka Benedová!
Denne morgenen blir det PRODA-klasse i kontaktimprovisasjon med Šárka Benedová!
Šárka Benedová is a Czech-born interdisciplinary artist and producer based in Stavanger, Norway. With a background in dance, music, and performance, she blends these disciplines to create site-specific and improvisational works that engage public spaces. Her projects aim to foster meaningful experiences in everyday environments, often challenging traditional boundaries between performers and audiences.
Šárka holds a BA in Contemporary Dance & Pedagogy from the Music and Arts University of Vienna and has enriched her practice through studies in Portugal and Norway. As the co-founder and manager of Kunstgrillen, an interdisciplinary art ensemble, Šárka leads and participates in projects that fuse dance, music, and instant composition, regularly collaborating with other artists. Her work with Kunstgrillen reflects a commitment to experimentation and public engagement, transforming ordinary spaces into dynamic stages. Šárka is a board member of KRA, a collaborative art space in Stavanger, where she leads Contact Improvisation Stavanger, sharing her passion for movement and community connection.
In addition to her collaborative ventures, Šárka explores the relationship between sound and movement through her ambient saxophone project Swan on a Leash. This solo project adds another dimension to her interdisciplinary practice, weaving atmospheric soundscapes into her performances. Her work has been supported by Arts Council Norway, Stavanger Kommune, Rogaland Fylkeskommune and other regional bodies, and has been featured in festivals and residencies across Europe.
Om klassen:
This class invites dancers and movers into an exploration rooted in the principles of contact improvisation, enriched with contemporary dance techniques. Through guided exercises, we’ll move into a practice where touch and presence become tools for dialogue, creating fluid exchanges between leading and following, listening and responding. Integrating voice and movement, participants will explore how the connection between language and physicality can deepen body awareness and reveal layers of expression.
